This blog is for my daughter.
Your Mother and I found out about you on our trip across the country from Portland, Oregon to Lancaster, Pennsylvania. It was about 4:30am, at the Settle Inn in La Crosse, Wisconsin. We already had your name picked out, we were going to call you Isobel June.
Your name Isobel comes from the Bjork song "Isobel" that your Mother had kept close to her heart for a long time. The song "Isobel" is about instinct and intuition, and the struggle between civilization and nature. Isobel is a fictional character created by Bjork. In the song she begins as the tiniest spark glowing in a dark forest which soon bursts into a flame, she represents the purity and solitude of nature, and eventually discovers that she is very different from everyone else.
The name June comes from your Great Grandmother, Arlie June Zeiders. Your Great Grandma and Great Grandpa George Calvin Zeiders are very special to your Mother and I, and they are really excited to meet you. I am exited for you to meet everyone in our great big, wonderful, and loving family as well. There are so many people that love you already. Including your big grouchy dog sister Luna.
Only 3 more months to go!
Amber is currently 28 weeks Pregnant. We are watching you grow and get bigger everyday. You seem to be moving more and kicking harder, and you especially kick when I read James and the Giant Peach to you at night.
Amber had her first baby shower at Mimi and Pappy's house and we got a lot of really great things for the nursery. We have everything but the bookshelf and rocking chair set up. I'm currently making a mobile with felted animals for you and I am also planning on painting a few birch trees on the wall by your crib. We have another baby shower for you in 2 weeks near Grammy and Pop pop's.
There are so many things I want to show you.
Here are the first photos of you.
